I went from moving my character with a sweaty thumb to a mapped keyboard and mouse control scheme. I think that the performance boost alone is enough of a reason to switch to an emulator on pc if you’re having frame rate issues.Īt first I found playing ldoe with a mouse and keyboard to be bit foreign, but I soon became comfortable with it and wouldn’t dream of heading back to touch controls. Just about any laptop can probably run ldoe at ultra settings with buttery smooth 60fps too! I did realize that most of the time I played ldoe I was at home anyways though. I already used the pc to play quite a few other games, and the only drawback I found was it’s portability. I decided to jettison my phone/tablet and migrate to my pc.

A lot of the higher tier areas with larger zombie spawns were also becoming an issue, and even switching my graphics to the bare minimum just wasn’t cutting it anymore! The more difficult and rewarding content in ldoe also taxed my phone to the limits. I noticed that as my base got progressively more complex I would in turn drop more frames.

If you’ve played ldoe for a good amount of time you’ve probably built up your base to a point where its filled with resource chests, all the workbenches, and a bunch of walls. This drop in performance wasn’t just due to updates or the aging of my phone either. The game eventually started to get choppy though, and it became borderline unplayable when visiting some locations. I was able to get acceptable frame rates even on ultra settings. When I first downloaded ldoe it ran pretty smooth on my phone. I also played the game on my tablet for a while, but ultimately I made the decision to play on pc due to a number of factors: Performance I’ve now completely switched to playing ldoe through the Nox emulator on my PC. Fast forward three years later and I wouldn’t dream of playing it on mobile anymore! It was convenient to pick up and play, and I was satisfied with the performance and touch controls on that medium. When I first downloaded Last Day on Earth I played it exclusively on my phone.
